'Jive''Jive'Jive' was originally started 13 years ago by founder members of Reading Rock'n'Roll Club 'The 3R's'and has always been an outstanding success. Following the death of 'The 3R's' President,Bill Cotterell in January 2005, Willie & Varick Jeffrey (Hemsby) were asked to join the team to ensure the continuing success of the event, which they did. Now in 2008 a new lease of life is being given to it with the help of Kav Kavanagh and Suzy Q at the helm taking over the management from Willie & Varick and 'The 3R's'.We already have a superb line-up for this years event in May. We had to make a decision about whether to cancel this year altogether or to scale it down to a 2 day event, we chose the latter. The Holiday Inn are happy to offer 'Jive Jive Jive' customers a room rate of £49 ( 2 adults and 2 Children up to 12
years) including buffet style breakfast. All you need to do is quote ' Reading Weekends' when calling 0870

Alhough this particular Hotel is roughly 3 miles from the event, they have 202 rooms and complimentary parking
for up to 300 cars.
We hope to work closely with them next year to include, amongst other things a 'shuttle service' to the
Rivermead venue.
Other News:
We will be having Mad Ink tattooist Tony Roath at the event for
anybody that fancies some new artwork and we also hope to have a room full of
Jukeboxes and Americana courtesy of Dee and her family following their recent
successful Jukebox event in Brighton this month.

Whilst we have negotiated with the hotels that were recommended and used in previous years, not all of them have been helpful, so please make sure you ask for an 'Advanced Booking Reduction'
when reserving rooms. We are aware of the lack of support from some of these
Hotels and will redress the situation in time for next years event. In the
meantime please bare with us.
Our list of hotels are just some of many in the area; there are also B&B's around so we suggest you check out all available and let us know of any others you find so that next year we will be able to offer a more comprehensive
'accommodation available' listing.
To avoid disappointment, please remember to call first for availability of the
'Weekend Pass' tickets before booking accommodation.We had planned to take this
event over from the 3R's last September but it didn't happen till the end of
January. As you can imagine with the timescale left for organising &
advertising etc we had to make a decision about whether to cancel this year altogether or to scale it down to a 2 day event, we chose the latter.
Within a few days we had designed the flyer and sent it to the printers so in
case it's not clear to all, the Weekend Pass is £25. The Booking form was
intended for people to use to book the Sunday as spaces for Saturday Night's
pre-party are limited to 200 people only and is on a first come first served
basis with priority given to camping and hotel bookings. You can of course amend
the Booking form to order the 'Weekend Pass' once you have checked availability.
You can also of course print off our booking form direct from this website and
also pay on the door on the Sunday.We are in the process of working flat out to ensure we put on an enjoyable successful event for
